Thoughts

Well now that all of those lovely things are out of the way.

HOLY MOTHER OF DARK ROMANCE GODS

This book had me absolutly enthralled in less than 5 chapters. I could not put it down and in fact read the whole book in less than 24 hours because I just could not stop.

Ivory has had a hard life. It's been an ugly life and the only thing she wants? To be the best pianist there is. She longs to get out of her town and to go on to bigger and better things.

Emerick... mmm. This man. Phew! He is everything you don't need but secretly want. He is running from a past, has an interesting sexual desires and just wants to carry on with his teaching job at a new academy. At least until he sees Ivory.

"Every thought in your head, and every word out of your mouth impacts me. Calling yourself dirty or any other offensive adjective is an insult to my girl, something I will not tolerate."

I can not put into words how amazing this book is. The love interest is not a traditional love interest and it absolutely will not be everyone's thing. However, this is a work of art. I became so entranced by this couple that I was rooting for them before they were rooting for themselves. There are many twist and turns in this book that will keep you guessing.

The spice is a masterpiece of course. The whole book is told from split POV so that you are able to see both sides of the story as it unfolds. This is my first teacher/student romance and wow. I am here for this. Pam Godwin's writing style makes you feel every emotion, every heartbreak just as the characters do.

While parts of this book is completely devastating and dark and depressing, the beauty that comes out of it.. is just wow. It is a complete page turner with a HEA. I am now a Pam Godwin fan and can't wait to read more of her work.

As always remember:
A book may not be your cup of tea, but it can be someone's shot of whiskey.
