Ghost by Kat Blackthorne

Ghost (The Halloween Boys 1)Ghost by Kat Blackthorne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I actually rate this more of a 3.5.

Before beginning this, this was my first Paranormal Romance so I have zero ideas how to even write this review. So let's start from the beginning.

I picked this up on a whim after seeing it on bookstagram. I was in a bit of a reading slump so I thought I would try out something besides my normal route. Insert this Paranormal Halloween themed romance....

This book was wild in all the right ways.

Thoughts

Demons, sex, dragon hybrids, vampires.... forked tongues. I mean how could you go wrong? I loved the setting of this story. This town is completely Halloween-obsessed and spooky. Blythe, the FMC finds herself running from her past to this town that quirkly embraces her as one of their own. She meets a group of men: a psychologist, a journalist, and a lawyer. She wants to break out of her normal life and this is her perfect opportunity because in this little town they have a month-long celebration of Halloween. The only rule? Come dressed as completely unrecognizable.

"I wanted to fuck every once of fear out of her. I wanted to fuck her brave. Because she could be brave now because she had me, and I'd kill anyone trying to hurt her.

First off: Curvy FMC for the win. It wasn’t constantly talked about which was amazing. She also didn’t feel bad in her body and the guy hyped her up. Absolutely not. She was exactly who she was and fine with it.

The spice is a slow burn, however, once you get to it- it is so so worth it. Forked tongues... I didn't even know this was a thing, and now I kinda want more. There are many TW and not for everyone.

The ending was a bit confusing, but that's because there will be a book two and this isn't left on an exact cliffhanger, but you will want more information. The author had me laughing and wanting to continue the story. So perks for that. My only real complaint was that this is marketed as a why choose... and I think we will get there, but it didn't have enough of that in this book for me.

Overall
This is the absolute perfect read for the spooky season! If monster romance, demon romance, or paranormal romance isn't your thing... skip it. However, if you are looking for something new to give a try. Absolutely read this.
