Summary
We start with the story of Meraki Mallory and Niko Davis. He left, she's rebuilding... but now he is back. Childhood friends initially fall in love, however, not everything is as it seems. There are so many secrets between them and he won't stop until he knows them all.
Thoughts
Woah. This is an absolute page-turner. This was the first, and absolutely not the last by Amo Jones. It said at the beginning that this was one of the darkest she wrote at the time- and it is that. Please read the TW that is posted at the beginning of the book.
This book kept me reading- without even realizing what was going on for most of the book. Every time I thought I knew something, I had zero clue. I loved it! I would say that this is more of a thriller with spice thrown in, and not particularly a dark romance but either way, it's great.
Mer is an absolutely strong character. She faces many challenges throughout this entire book, and for the most part, doesn't ever give in. She is strong and keeps going despite it all. I really enjoyed her character.
Niko is a bit of a different story. Do I like him? Yes But I also hate him. His character was both love/hate. I wanted so much more from him and just when it seems like we would get more, he would character flop and become something else entirely.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and would absolutely read it again just to realize what I missed the first time. I can't wait to read more by Amo Jones.
